“You’re in a unique situation of being alone: you just left your
home for college, you’re trying to figure out what you want for yourself and it would be nice if you could go somewhere and get some help and
support without people trying to tell you that there’s something wrong with you…
…that was the other part of me trying to support my
friend – I was just trying to convince her that she has the same power
and the same qualities that all people have to make themselves
happy and choose what’s right for …

(Peace…another excerpt from an upcoming project – I’ll let you
know all the details as soon as everything’s together…)
————————————-Here’s an excerpt from a book I’ve been reading called, Healthy Selfishness: Getting the Life You Deserve Without the Guilt by Drs. Richard & Rachael Heller (a husband and wife team).
The overall theme of the book is that a particular kind of selfishness is good, and that a large amount of the stress and suffering we experience comes from us not honoring ourselves enough to set up boundaries on how much we’ll …

Now this is hot: it’s a video from Napolean Hill’s classic The Laws of Success. The title says self-discipline, but it’s primarily about personal initiative…

(ps: I’m currently working with some Haitian organizations to create some fundraiser ideas…I’ll have more details soon, but for now, you can get your hands on an early preview copy of my book to help donate to to the relief work. Click here)

Take a quick look at the sidebar panel to the right and you’ll notice a new widget from Amazon called “Recommended Scrolls.” It has this cool cycle effect to it too :) press those arrows on the right to check it out…

Remember that blog post I did a few weeks back about The Empire of Illusion? As it turns out, almost everyone I showed the post to said they were going to get the book…one friend of mine even went out to get it THE DAY AFTER.
After we finished …

An old activist friend of mine sent this yesterday. Her name is Sunsara Taylor, and the way she broke things down reminded me of why I became an activist in the first place…
I posting this here because of her perspective: she drops of few insights you won’t get on the daily news or any other popular mis-information source…you already know what you need to do to assist (if not, see here), but for now, check this out. You’ll be glad that you did:

Your NATURAL Rights: An Introduction to Sovereign Thought

First, check this:

A friend of mine put this video up on his facebook page the other day, and I decided to make a blog post about it because it introduces another concept I’d love to build on in the near future…
If they were to interview me, I’d say something to the effect of:
“Human rights, or natural rights, are those freedoms you have by nature of your existence: they’re liberties you have simply because you’re alive, and for anyone to interfere or intercede with those rights is, in effect, for them …

4 Steps to Raise Your Productivity & Consistently Get More Out of Yourself…

(continued from a facebook note of the same title – find out steps 1 & 2 by clicking here)

“Intuition is the clear conception of the whole at once…”
~ Johann Kasper Laveter
Whenever you feel stuck or notice yourself starting to fall off-balance, just stop and ask yourself, “What’s the wisest thing for me to do right now? What’s the most productive, beneficial and intelligent action I could take in this moment?”
Deep within each of us is a higher form of intelligence, and I’ve …

“We ask…to be fed lies. We demand lies. The skillfully
manufactured images and slogans that flood the airwaves
and infect our political discourse mask reality,
and we do not protest…”
“The worse reality becomes, the less a beleaguered (annoyed)
population wants to hear about it, and the more it
distracts itself with the squalid pseudo-events of celebrity
break ups, gossip and trivia. These are the debauched
revels of a dying culture.”
“A culture that cannot distinguish between
reality and illusion dies…”

The quotes above come from The Empire of Illusion: The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle by Chris …
