A Short Poem for Motivation, Self-Empowerment & Getting Focused

20 to 24 year old african american male thinking

(…a short poem I wrote a few months back)

Start Playing the Game of Life ON OFFENSE

Play the game of life on offense: stop being timid and half-assed about what you want…

Instead, transform your self-image into that of a predator and go in for the kill. Within reason, get in touch with your animal instincts and direct that energy towards your goal.

Lion graphicFind something meaningful to you, forget what everyone else says and think like, ‘If some clown doesn’t like me or doesn’t want me to (insert goal), he’s going to have to kill me, because that’s the only thing I can see working.

Then, start calculating things: when you mess up or have a failure, learn from it and form a science.

If you were playing a video game and lost, you’d think about why you lost and put another quarter in…if you focused on one game at a time, you’d soon make a name for yourself in the arcade in the arcade.

So start playing the game of life assertively: go after what you want without apology and eliminate the concept of failure from your mind…” ~ fin
