About

Peace,

Bryan OgilvieI really don’t like talking about myself too much, because I feel like there really isn’t too much to say: I’m just a young man into self-empowerment, mind-elevation, life-mastery and everything in between…who also loves to write and rhyme :).

But since every blog seems to have an “about the blogger” page, I figured I met as well have one too. Here’s something I was introduced with for a book reading I did last summer:

———————————-

“Bryan Ogilvie – recent Hampton University graduate and author of the upcoming book Doing the Knowledge: Ascending into Actionbegan his college career as a Music Engineering major, eventually changed his focus to Sociology and then, ultimately, Entrepreneurship.

During his time at Hampton University, he was a member of the student activist organization Black Campus Progressives (BCP) and consequently, took part in community-building events, team-development workshops, seminars and retreats all across the U.S. He’s participated in numerous rallies and marches, helped to coordinate speaking engagements, fashion shows, and retreats throughout the 7 cities (Hampton Roads, Virginia), and post-Hurricane Katrina, along with rest of BCP, Bryan helped organize multiple student trips to the Gulf Coast region in order to aid in the New Orleans relief effort.

Aside from his formal education, Bryan also took it upon himself to thoroughly study black history, world politics, business and economics, positive psychology, personal development, spirituality and his own inner self.

Do The Knowledge! bookNow, bringing a close to one chapter of his life and beginning the next, Bryan is placing the finishing touches on his very own first book – Doing the Knowledge: Ascending into Action, a brilliant work of higher knowledge, wisdom and understanding on how we can all “ascend” into the greatness we naturally are. This is what he’ll be talking about tonight…”

Also, I grew up in a place called Hempstead, on Long Island (an all-black and latino community). A friend I went to highschool with just made a film about our hometown too. Check it:
