Bryan Ogilvie, the Queens, New York-based author of How to Conquer Yourself: Discipline & Willpower for the Conscious, Creative Thinker and owner of DoTheKnowledge.com, is a former musician and social-activist turned writer, lecturer, professional speaker and personal consultant.
Leveraging his experience:
>> organizing relief effort to a post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans
>> leading the premier Marching Band drumline of Uniondale High School (in Long Island) and
>> co-leading both of HBCU Hampton University’s social-awareness network and business initiative campaigns: Black Campus Progressives and Community Entrepreneurship Organization, respectively
…Bryan now trains aspiring artists, musicians, actors, models, graphic designers, film-makers, photographers, fellow writers and other creative professionals for success in their respective crafts, with his new book, How to Conquer Yourself: Discipline & Willpower for the Conscious, Creative Thinker serving as a strategic framework and procedural guide to cultivating the willpower, focus, discipline and dedication our personal, professional and artistic ambitions necessitate and demand of us.
Bryan graduated with a Bachelors of Entrepreneurship from Hampton University and originally is from Hempstead, Long Island – a predominantly Black and Latino community roughly ten minutes east of Queens – the second largest metropolitan area in the state of New York, after the city itself.
(He’s also a six-year strong vegetarian with an affinity for all things science, philosophy, rhetoric, debate and old school Hip-Hop music.)
