Black Intelligence (pt.12): Supporting Our Graphic Designers…

The Story:
An old college friend of mine – Mensah Imbeigh Bey (the brother doing his thing in the picture above) – just entered an artist competition for Black History Month…
We used to run together doing activist work back in the day: organizing relief efforts to New Orleans, joining protests, holding underground meetings, etc. etc. So this is a good friend of mine and I’d REALLY appreciate if you held him down.
You can vote (daily) here: www.celebratecommunityarts.com Here’s his submission, “Nat Turner”:

In His Own Words…
I entered a piece entitled “Nat Turner”…you can vote once a day for the artwork. THAT’S VOTE DAILY!!!!! Voting lines opened on Feb 1st and end Feb 28th. Grand Prize is $5000 Grant and a Gallery Showing in your hometown. Five more winners will receive $1000
So in light of the contest, my art and all else uplifting and powerful. Visit www.celebratecommunityarts.com and vote for Nat Turner!!!!
As an aspiring Grad Student (applications already submitted) success in the contest would be an amazing experience and motivation to move into the world of art. Also, a showing in my hometown would bring an opportunity to unveil all of our artistic history there.
I appreciate all of the votes I’ve already received. Reach out to your other friends and lets make even more history!!!” ~ Mensah Bey
