Facebook Photos in the Cut! (AND a New Contact Page)

2 February 2010 No Comment

Peace,

Now this is dope: I just figured out how to get pictures from my facebook account (albums, tags, etc.) automatically updated and displayed into this blog….check out “Facebook Visuals” widget in the sidebar to the bottom-right ;)

It displays the pictures at random – so it’s different every time – and if you click on one of them, guess what??? It links to a blogpost that displays the entire album the picture is from, and once you open up an album, you can even hover your mouse over an image to see the description. (My favorite is called Symbolic Teachers : anytime you see a picture of a comic book or anime character, that’s the album it’s from…I usually upload the stuff to talk about the symbolism and “Hidden Jewels.”)

I just stayed up for a couple hours last night tinkering around with the site (I do this all the time – it gets to be kind of fun once you learn how it works) and figured this out almost by accident.

I know it sounds fancy, but really it’s not that complicated at all: if you have a blog and you’d like to get it cross referenced with your facebook account to display photo updates (or if you know anyone who might) click here. It’s a application called “Fotobook” that currently runs wordpress blogs only…I think.

Here’s one of my favorites:

“How about the EYE of Thunde-RA which gives LionO (king of astrology
and king of the sun) sight beyond sight, and he can kind of astral travel
or see through space and time
. How about the fact that Mumra wore a crown
of two serpents facing each other? On his chest is Hermes Staff! This
whole show reaked of symbolism
. It even had hollow earth symbolism!
The black pyramid had four oBELisks surrounding it. Off the charts
symbolism…” ~ a friend of mine going off on some message board.

And here’s one I put up yesterday:

“Not too long ago, a friend of mine broke down how in the X-men universe, Professor X represents Martin Luther King and Magneto represents Malcolm X…hence Pro. X and the X-men’s desire to assimilate (“the good guys”, of course) and Magneto’s desire to leave the human race entirely in order to establish a civilization governed by the mutants themselves
(Self-Determination)…” ~ yours truly

Peace :),
+B

ps: I also set up the contact page to work correctly now too – if you click on the mailbag image under “Connects”, you’ll go to a contact form that makes it even easier to get in touch with me…
