I mentioned this a few weeks back when I was introducing a freestyle session me and El did – an excerpt from Phil Valentine’s classic lecture, “The Book of the Earth.”
I also mentioned this on facebook a few days ago (in a photo album dedicated to black genius)…I said the lecture was my first time hearing anything from this brother >> I stumbled upon it randomly while hanging out at an NGE bookstore in Jersey City, thinking to my self, “Oh, it would be cool to watch a lecture rather then just read all the time…”
So I had no idea how many jewels he was going to drop on me. I’m actually pretty late: this lecture is from 2005, but Bro. Phil has been teaching publicly since the 80′s (if I’m not mistaken).
Just check it out…it speaks for itself:
