Mind-Mapping: The #1 Creativity Technique for Producing Great Ideas FAST…
Peace,
If you pay close attention to some of my videos, you’ll notice certain clips that show my note-taking and creativity process. Take a look:
These are both what you call mind-maps: graphical information-webs that allow you to generate ideas, structure plans, correlate knowledge and much more in free-form…
What makes mind-maps so hot is that they replicate the your actual, real-time thinking. While normal note taking techniques are “linear” (they suppose that you’re thinking sequentially as in “first I’m going to do this, then I’m going to do that, etc.), mind-maps are “holistic,” (they know that your thoughts tend to offshoot and divert to other thoughts, so they have you “map” a visual representation of that process. This lets you free-form ideas while still having a written structure to capture EVERYTHING).
The best part is that IT’S EASY…even a simpleton can do it. Here’s a great video that explains more:
And even though you’ll want to learn mind-maps by writing, here’s a dope website that lets you do them online…for free.

When I said I do this mind-mapping on the regular, I wasn’t playing…I use mind-maps to plan out everything: blogposts, lectures, my book, research, what I’m going to do for the day, an argument I want to present to someone, trips out of town, etc. etc., because there’s no limit to how they can be applied. It’s really the fundamental way I write now…
Peace,
+B

I never heard of mind mapping or Stephen Pierce before, but I am damn sure glad that I read this entry, B. This is some serious, cutting edge patterns of retaining information. It’s on! Give thanx!
Yeah man…it’s serious. There are so many applications to this it doesn’t even make sense…it’s like a social networking site for ideas.
You can use it to strategize arguments, plan articles, structure your day…the list is endless.
