A Legacy of Black Intelligence

One of the best scrolls I've ever read >> a lot of cats (the so called "scholarly" type) knock it because it doesn't speak with proper English or pointless academic terms...the brother Akil writes in Ebonics and keeps it so real that you feel like he's right there building with you...

The bottom line is that it's written like that to talk to who it's supposed to talk to: the average young black man in a not so favorable situation. There are so many jewels and life-changing paradigm shifts in this one book (and it's so easy to read) that I had no choice but to put it up here. (I might make a note out of this one soon...)

Brothers, if you haven't already, READ THIS BOOK -- trust: if you do nothing else for black history month, this will more then meet the quota. "Marimba Ani is a visionary scholar of the greatest dimension...gifted with keen insight and an opportunity to matriculate through the hallowed academies of European-American education...this gift combined with the spirit of an activist and a love of Afrikan Scholarship has produced, Yurugu>> one of the true landmark keys to Afrikan liberation and by extension the liberation of peoples around the world who suffer under Global White Supremacy."

THIS SISTER IS A GENIUS...TRUST ME. One of my favorite joints we ever did >> this and the sweatshop-free fashion show are up there...much love to Sia for the graphic design :)

I even blogged about this waaay back in the day: http://www.dotheknowledge.com/transcend/time

Anybody else remember Devin's lecture on flouridated water???
Essentially, this book adds on to the idea that a majority of so-called African-Americans are in reality, NATIVE-AMERICANS, and that the normal construct we have of how things came to be for "Black" people in this country may be more of a fabrication then it is historical fact...

Now I'm not here to tell anyone what to think or believe, but I believe that anyone serious about understanding history would give this real consideration, because the amount of archeological evidence and research available now is abundant.

"They Came Before Columbus: The African Presence in Ancient America" by Ivan Van Sertima is one of the best resources I've come across on this subject... Just got off a conference call with some of the grassroots activists organizing this a few hours ago - THINGS ARE A LOT WORSE OFF THEN WE INITIALLY THOUGHT... Two activist OGs who put me on to A LOT socio-politically and otherwise...
"White sugar is sweet, it's delicious, and it tastes good...however IT'S A DRUG! Black people know what it is to the tastebuds, but not what it is to black life: a highly refined carbohydrate that's technically classified as a drug.

The refining process was invented by a Black man named Norbert Rillieux. He invented the process to help produce better minerals and metals, but his good invention was turned into a weapon: his refinement process when used for sugar became a weapon of enslavement and a destroyer of health..." ~ Dr. Liala O. Afrika "Many diseases today are used to MANIPULATE & CONTROL people (most of the information on this is at Sanford University in the Hoover Institutate...it shows how to food used to manipulate and control populations)

...they add these things called additives: behavior modifiers which are used to addict people - to addict people to certain types of behavior and LIMIT THEIR RANGE OF THINKING.

That gets into the politics of the food industry and what it's designed to do: most black folks people think that food is innnocent, but when you're under oppression NOTHING is innocent - everything is a tool to keep you oppressed." ~ Dr. Liala Afrika "Avirex Gore-Tex wet with fly jewelry - Israelite, original insight and lethal. First Hebrew, God-sent Golden Asian...Phenomenal: you can't say the name Nas without saying the Honorable..."
So yeah, just in case you didn't already know, A BLACK WOMAN WROTE "THE MATRIX." - just goes to show you the depth and brilliance of a Sister's mind...I built with her before myself, so trust me, this woman is sharp...

Sophia wrote a manuscript called "The 3rd Eye" back in the early 80's and shopped it around to Fox, the Wachowski Bros. etc, but never got an official response. When she saw The Matrix on screen (and the Terminator series as well, which The Matrix is derived from), she knew they tried to pull the "the okie-doke" on her.

Warner Bros. employees even admitted to referring to her original script WHILE ON SET. Sophia took the situation to court, and last I heard, after a seriously long struggle, WON. Claudia Gordon, the first deaf, black female attorney in the U.S... My first Phil lecture ever...I actually stumbled on it by accident at an NGE bookstore in Jersey City, thinking "Oh, it would be cool to watch a lecture rather then read all the time..."

Man, if I had any idea (laughs)
Part of a dope image I put together while doing a blog post about Moorish Heritage, entitled, "On the So-Called 'African-American'." More of the BCP (Black Campus Progressives) fam...check out Dr. Rosenthal's domepiece y'all ;) ...

Description: For the 28 or so days dedicated to the magnificence of African peoples...I didn't see the point of confining it to February though, so I'll be adding new images every so often...
