“Goals give you more than a reason to get up in the morning; they’re an incentive to keep you going all day. Goals tend to tap the deeper resources and draw the best out of life” ~ Harvay Mackay

Peace Family,

So I’ve been running into tons of quality information while doing research for the upcoming book Doin’ The Knowledge: Ascending into Action, and recently, I thought to myself ,”why wait to spread the knowledge…we can build as it all develops!

Just the other day for example, I listened to Zig Ziglar’s Goals: Setting and Achieving Them on Schedule, Zig Ziglar\'s Goals: Setting & Achieving Them on Schedule an audio CD about two hours long. While it took a second to get used to the Southern accent, the program was definitely motivating, entertaining, and “on-point.” Zig filled his lessons with plenty of analogies and anecdotes, and his overall animation and enthusiasm spoke through the entire program.

(Interestingly enough, Zig suggested that everyone should write their own book, and call it “What to Do to Get the Most Out of Your Life.” After hearing that, I thought,
Wow! That’s exactly what Ascending into Action is all about!”)

Also, here’s a link to download 50 Ways to Reach Your Goals – a short PDF eBook by Soni Pitts . In the introduction, Soni explains how deep pleasure and satisfaction can only be realized by setting and achieving meaningful goals. The goal setting process, according to Soni, creates an energy cycle of desire, action, and fulfillment. Without this cyclical rhythm, life becomes dull and meaningless.

Soni’s 5-Step Process for Setting Goals is as follows:

1) Create a Vision of Your Ideal Future (a specific, detailed form of life experience),
2) Create Goals from that Vision (what it’ll take to get there).
3) Write SMART Goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, and Timely), and,
4) Identify Possible Obstacles, to,
5) Create Plans to Counter Each One of Them

Here’s the link again – it’s about 30 pages long.

So both the eBook and audio CD have some strong content, with great advice from a technical standpoint: a what to do, how to do it, and why sorta perspective. They’re also very creative and easy to understand.

However, I think a commentary on the spiritual dynamics behind goal
setting is what’s needed. Greatness manifests from the soul, not the brain.

For more on this, stay tuned. I’ll be sure to keep it coming in future posts.

Peace,

+B
